Deaf Sign Alliance, in partnership with Ideas Workshop, hosted a Spiritual Retreat from 24th to 27th March 2025 for deaf young people who completed their apprenticeships at Ideas Workshop. The four day retreat, held in Buwambo, Wakiso District, brought together 28 deaf young men and women from various parts of Uganda.
The retreat’s theme, “Depend on God, not your own knowledge” (Proverbs 3:5-6), served as a guiding principle for the participants. Our Board member, Dr. Naboth Coole, facilitated training sessions on marriage and other topics aimed at inspiring the young people to strive for excellence in their future careers.
Today these interns who completed the training courses for 2024 to 2025 are graduating.The retreat culminated in a graduation ceremony, where the 28 deaf young people, who completed courses in carpentry, welding, and building at Ideas Workshop, were recognized for their achievements. We congratulate them on this milestone and wish them continued success in their endeavors.
