First day of the inaugural Uganda National Deaf Summit

First day of the inaugural Uganda National Deaf Summit, held on 24th to 25th March 2025, at the British Council, was officially opened by a distinguished representative from the British Council. The summit featured a keynote address by the esteemed Joanita Davina Kako from GIZ Uganda.

Notable guest speakers included Josephine Amaro from GIZ and Dr. Naboth Coole, who shared their expertise and insights, enriching the summit’s discussions and outcomes.

Deaf Sign Alliance, in partnership with Uganda National Association of the Deaf and supported by the British Council, is organizing this groundbreaking Summit under the theme “Open Doors for Deaf People to the World of Full Opportunities.”

The summit is featuring a lineup of distinguished speakers from the UK, Germany, Spain, and Uganda, who will share insights on various opportunities available to Deaf individuals, including employment,education,health,technology, theatre,business, funding projects, networking, and capacity building for Deaf leaders.

This Summit aims to empower Deaf participants with knowledge and resources to unlock their potential, thrive in their lives, and actively engage in development programs.
