SILENT CAFE: Two restaurants where meals are quiet

Silent Café is an inclusive social enterprise managed by deaf people in Uganda. It was launched on International Disability Day: 3 rd December 2021. It was the first of its kind to be owned and run by the deaf in Uganda, East Africa and central Africa. We closely work with coffee farmers in Sironko district around mountain Elgon by graining farmers in better coffee farming techniques and after harvest handling.

We aim at creating jobs and opportunities for socio-economic empowerment of deaf people and their families for better livelihoods and promote public awareness on the capabilities of deaf people Uganda having earned over $862.28millions in coffee exports last year (Uganda Development Coffee Authority), it is also our wish to share in the coffee chain business opportunities.
